Daniel González is a Full Professor and Researcher at the University of Guadalajara, affiliated with the University Center for Art, Architecture, and Design (CUAAD).
He is the Director of the Institute for Research and Studies of Cities, part of the University Network of Jalisco - University of Guadalajara, located at the University Center for Art, Architecture, and Design.
He earned his degree in Architecture from the University of Guadalajara in 1978 and completed a specialization in Housing in Latin America through the National University of Colombia and the Institute for Housing Studies in the Netherlands in 1980.
He continued his studies at his alma mater with a Master's degree in Conservation and Restoration of Monuments (1990) and obtained a Doctorate in Architecture from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain), which was validated in Mexico (SEP) as a Doctorate in City, Territory, and Sustainability.
Co-Director of the “Manuel Castells” Chair.
Member of the scientific committees of indexed journals: NODO (Colombia), Urbano (Chile), and ACE (Spain).
From 2011 to 2015, he was a member of the General University Council of the University of Guadalajara.
He is also a member of the National System of Researchers of the National Council of Humanities, Sciences and Technologies, now SECIHTI; and holds the PRODEP Desirable Profile.
He is the founder and a professor in the Bachelor's Degree Program in Urban Planning and Environment; and in the Doctoral Program in City, Territory, and Sustainability, a program registered with the National System of Postgraduate Studies of CONAHCYT/SECIHTI.
Director of the Planning Commission of the Municipal Government of Guadalajara from 2010 to 2013.
He carried out the project and restoration of the former Santo Tomás Church, now the Octavio Paz Ibero-American Library (1988-1991).
