Architect by University of Valparaiso, Chile (1998) and post-degree in Urban Environment and Sustainability (1998) at the same university. Master’s degree in Urban Management by FPC-UPC, Spain (2003), M.Sc. in Urban Management & Valuation by UPC (2019), and Ph.D. in Urban & Architectural Management & Valuations (2023) at the same university. Currently, Lecturer Professor at the Barcelona School of Architecture at UPC.

Between 1998 and 2001 he worked as an assistant professor at the School of Architecture and the School of Civil Construction at the University of Valparaiso, Chile, and as an architect in the office of taxes of the Municipality of Quilpué (Chile).

Since 2003 he has been a Researcher at the CPSV and also since 2005 coordinator of postgraduate courses of the same. His experience focuses on urban management systems, urban regeneration processes, especially in port areas and Waterfronts redevelopment, urban planning, and GIS applied to the city and territory. Since 2005 he has been a member of the consolidated Research Group in Quality of Urban Life and Sustainability (recognized by the AGAUR).

He has participated in competitive research projects in technologies for accessibility to urban heritage, growth models, and spatial analysis and GIS in local management, acting as technical coordinator in some of them.

Some areas of work:

Preparation of studies on management, planning, financing and territorial and urban development policies:

  • Analysis of management and financing processes for urban regeneration and new growth areas.

  • Studies of legal viability and economic analysis of new planning areas and action units.

  • Analysis of the evolution of real estate markets and submarkets, residential, hotel, offices, etc.

  • Evaluation of action policies in the field of Residential Energy Rehabilitation.

Development of work with Geographic Information Systems applied to territorial and urban analysis and planning:

  • Preparation and development of databases in GIS formats (ArcGIS, Geomedia, MapInfo, GvSIG) and evaluation tools.

  • Preparation of databases and statistical analysis (territorial and real estate market).

  • Development of studies in Real Estate Geomarketing and city marketing (in GIS and Web).

  • Analysis and studies of urban transformation and regeneration processes and gentrification.
