Ruben Blasco Talaván graduated from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain) and holds a Master's degree in City and Urban Planning from the Open University of Catalonia (Spain).

He currently serves as director of the Human Habitat Institute, coordinator of the Habitat Laboratory and professor at the Pan-American University and UNIVA.

From 2020 to 2023 he served as Director of Technical Studies at the Urban Development Attorney's Office of the State of Jalisco and has worked for various consulting firms in Spain and Mexico.

For 4 years he served as executive consultant on urban transformation projects in the Nou Barris District for the Barcelona City Council, Spain, and also developed, from 2000 to 2001, various Territorial Planning projects in the eastern area of ​​Ecuador. In addition, he has been a collaborator on projects at the TU Delft in the Netherlands and in Oxfordshire, England.

He is a regular speaker at talks related to urban planning, promoter of forums for citizen dialogue, and author of various research articles and other publications.
